The three women – Sakine Cansiz, Dogan Fidan, and Leyla Soylemez – were shot at in their heads by perpetrators who used silencers. The manner of killing indicates that the victims were targeted for assassination.
Sakine Cansiz, Dogan Fidan, and Leyla Soylemez were courageous women who fought for the freedom and self-determination for the Kurdish people, and their martyrdom will be remembered with gratefulness not only by the Kurdish people, but also all those who cherish sovereignty, freedom, democracy, and justice. Cansiz is a founding member of the Kurdistan Workers Party.
Bayan calls on the the government of France to undertake a swift and thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. Bayan urges the government in countries of Turkey, Syria, and Iraq, Iran where there are Kurdish people to respect their supreme right to self-determination and to end the all forms of violence against them.
Bayan likewise urges all freedom-loving groups in the world to support the Kurdish people’s struggle to self-determination and thereby strengthen our ranks against all forms of reaction.#
