Names of known Bayan Muna leaders missing
in Tondo voter’s list
The names of three leaders of Bayan
Muna were missing in the voter’s list in Barangay 20 in
Tondo, Manila.
This was found earlier by Kontradaya field volunteers
stationed in Almario Elementary School in Tondo, where residents
of Barangay 20 are scheduled to vote in today’s national
election.
One of them is Luz Solayao, a known community
leader of Bayan Muna Partylist, whose name dotted the headlines
in recent weeks after being harassed by members of AFP because
of her involvement with said Partylist.
According to Solayao, they are long time voters
from this area and they were utterly surprised that their names
are missing in the official list.
Solayao and the two others suspect a seeming connection
with the urban militarization in Metro Manila including Tondo.
Bgy.20 was one of the areas covered the AFP during their deployment
in Manila.
Reports say that even the official list of the
Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting(PPCRV) does not
include Barangay 20. This barangay covers Isla Puting Bato, where
there is large concentration of voters.
Concerned parties have already filed complaints
with the Commission on Elections. |
